Seeing Your Body as a Temple: What That Means for Daily Living

When Scripture tells us our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19–20), it’s more than a poetic metaphor; it’s a mindset shift that changes how we live, move, and care for ourselves every single day.

1. Honor Through Stewardship

Stewardship isn’t about perfection or appearance; it’s about honoring what God has entrusted to us.
That means nourishing your body with real food, resting when you’re weary, and listening when something feels off. Getting adjusted regularly is one of the most practical ways to care for your body - keeping your spine aligned allows your nervous system to function the way God designed it to. It's not selfish to care for yourself; it's an act of worship.

2. Create Space for the Spirit

Just as temples are places of peace and presence, your body and mind can become a dwelling place for clarity and connection. When we’re constantly running on stress, caffeine, and busyness, it’s hard to hear God’s whisper. Movement, breath, prayer, and chiropractic care all help remove interference, physically and spiritually, so you can experience that peace again. Each adjustment clears away tension and stress that can cloud not only your body, but your mind and spirit too.

3. Detox What Doesn’t Belong

Think of all the “clutter” that accumulates in your temple: unhealthy habits, toxic thoughts, processed foods, negative influences. Keeping your body as a temple means taking inventory and letting go of what doesn’t serve your God-given purpose. This could look like replacing late-night scrolling with journaling, soda with water, or self-criticism with gratitude.

When your spine is aligned and your nervous system is clear, your body is better able to release what it doesn’t need, in every area.

4. Restoration is Holy Work

Healing isn’t just physical - it’s deeply spiritual. Every adjustment, stretch, and breath you take toward health is a step toward restoring the design God intended for you. The body has an incredible ability to heal when given the right environment.
When you choose to align your spine, your mindset, and your habits, you’re saying, “God, I trust the design You created.” Chiropractic adjustments honor that design, helping your body function without interference so healing can flow the way it was meant to.

5. Live with Gratitude and Intentionality

Every meal, movement, and moment of rest can become a form of gratitude. When you start seeing your health as a reflection of your relationship with God, you naturally begin to treat your body differently. Getting adjusted becomes more than just another appointment - it’s a rhythm of realignment, reminding your body and spirit to stay connected to their Source.

You are sacred. Your body is sacred.
Honor it, care for it, and let your daily choices - from prayer to movement to getting adjusted - reflect the Creator who made you whole.
